MORE than 130 people turned out to support a charity night in memory of tragic Halsall teenager Jenny Kitching. The 16-year-old slipped into a coma and passed away on September 18 last year after two weeks in intensive care, having suffered from undiagnosed type 1 diabetes.

The former Ormskirk School pupil?s family and friends have been campaigning to raise awareness of the condition since then.
And on May 19, her cousin Selina Gill organised a race night at Scarisbrick Village Hall, which has raised more than ?1,400 for type 1 diabetes charity Juvenile Diabetes Research Fund (JDRF).

On the night, guests arrived before 7pm to buy raffle tickets and jewellery, including personalised 'Jen' bracelets by Christine Hazelton.
There was also a tombola and cake stall before bets were placed on the horse betting tables organised by funracing.com
