An urgent review is needed to help boost the number of people with diabetes who benefit from having insulin pumps, MSPs will be told.
The charity Diabetes UK Scotland is to take its case to Holyrood, arguing for more of the pumps to be made available.
Insulin pumps are small medical devices attached to the body which are programmed to release the right amount of insulin, meaning patients no longer have to give themselves regular injections.
Although not suitable for everyone with the disease, the pumps can mean fewer complications and an improved quality of life.
