A project that teaches children how a healthy lifestyle helps prevent diabetes is being expanded thanks to Scottish Government cash.
The ?20,000 will allow the programme, run by the charity Diabetes UK Scotland and the Edinburgh International Science Festival, to be taught in more schools.
The new cash, announced before Diabetes Week, comes on top of ?20,000 provided last year. A total of nine schools are involved with the Live For It project, but that will be expanded to 31.

Hope they make it clear that Type 1 has nothing to do with lifestyle. I wonder also if there will be any mention of the fact you can still become Type 2 even if you do lead a healthy life, but your risks are reduced.
