Well went to my surgery to collect refferal letters to Orthopaedic Consultant, this afternoon. Whilst there asked could they check when my next Daibetes check due , which he attempted to do and asked me which nurse I normal see and he replied oh she has retired at the end of March and they only have the one nurse at the moment doing all the Diabetics. I had seen they were advertising for a new Diabetic Nurse on the website due to retirement. My previous Diabetic Nurse had only retired the year before.
As my review is due anytime, i suspect it might be delayed with just one nurse. I have not received a letter asking me to have my bloods and book the appointment.
There have been so many changes at my surgery over the last few years, i like the GP I see but despite seeing her for 3 years, i feel we were still a work in progress. Previous one had been for 30 years and prior to that had been collegues.
My Asthma nurse left late last year due to the many changes that had gone on. Not meet the other one who taking over all the practices Asthma patients.
Intresting times. Though my surgery has had lots of changes it still seems better than the one around the corner to me where my friend goes and had to have 3 visits in 24 hours to have her medication reviewed and re-authorised.
