Went to pick up the form so that I can have the ESR repeated for third time in Six weeks because the levels have been high. However was rather concerned to find out that they want to repeat the full blood count that was done only five weeks ago. never needed an FBC repeated before. I know that the red blood count was a little on the high side last time but I have no idea what this means. Getting worried.

I know it must be difficult Amanda, but do try not to worry and speculate. As soon as you find your thoughts wandering to thinking about why they want the test, distract yourself - sing a song to Susie, perhaps 🙂 Worry begets worry and doesn't solve anything or make you feel better. Could you ask your doctor why the test is wanted, perhaps, so at least you know why?

Thanks Alan - I phoned the surgery and they said that they can't tell me why the FBC is being repeated because the last one was normal. I guess I will just have to wait and see for the results and try not to worry.

Hi Amanda, just wanted to send you good postive thoughts. Remember it's the unknown that's so scary, things start racing about in our minds and it then gets a bit foggy. So fingers crossed for youX Try and have a relaxing day and do something nice to take your mind off of things. Sheenax

Perhaps it's just some routine thing they do - you know what they are like! If the last one was normal then there's nothing to suggest they are looking at anything particular. Doctors are a law to themselves. All the best though with all your tests. thinking of you.xx

Hi Amanda, Fingers crossed everything is ok for you - sending you my love xxx

Thank you every one. Guess I was just fed up with the thought of yet more blood tests and was having a bad gasroparesis day. By 3pm I was curled up under the duvet feeling spaced out having had one of my "emergency" anti-nause tablets. But today is a new day and the sun is shining and I'm feeling positive that both of the blood tests will come back normal. Now just got to get the gastroparesis back under control🙄
