Hi do anyone have any recommendations of monitors that connects to a app for type. 2 thank you
Hello @Little Wren ,

Thank you so much for joining our online community. Some of our members may offer some suggestions, but this page may be helpful regarding monitors and people with type 2 diabetes.

i have the spirit tee2+ that connects to smart log app.

the best app however i find is the my sugr app and my accuchek instant connects to that but the strips are kinda expensive vs other ones and I have the spirit meter and strips on prescription 🙂

what do you want out of the app?

I have spoken to my diabetes nurse and she has given me a prescription monitors with strips etc today as changed my medication. perhaps I will use it alongside the mySugr app thank you

I have every good intention of manually inputting my details over to mysugr but in reality, i forget.
I do keep buying the odd pot of strips for the accuchek one for double checking/confirming rogue readings 🙂

what meter did they give you and does it have an app of its own?

Doesn't look like it. But there's a wireless version which (with a suitable smartphone) records to their app. Looks like the device is smaller too. And uses the same test strips. If I were being prescribed those test strips I'd be tempted by the wireless one (only £16.66 if you have to buy one). The app might be horrible, of course.

The wireless version connects to their app, and to MySugr through apple health. It uses the same test strips as the non wireless version.

What do you want from the app though?

Before buying the wireless adapter, phone and ask for one. Their profit is in the sale of strips and if, by providing you with a free adapter, or a free 2nd test meter, they get you locked in to their strips .....

Doesn’t work for this company, they charged me for mine

Welcome to the forum @Little Wren

I manually logged results in mySugr for years. Very quick to do, and gave me some ‘thinking time’ to reflect on the numbers and what they might mean.

Was very helpful as I was recording insulin doses / splits / timings too, and the search function meant I could quickly refer back to see what had worked (or not!) before.
