PATIENTS diagnosed with diabetes can now access support at their GP surgery – previously only available in hospitals.

The new measures came into force in Mole Valley last week with the launch of the service in Dorking, after being announced by health authority the Surrey Downs Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) earlier this year.

Diabetes affects nearly 12,000 residents in the area covered by the Surrey Downs CCG which, as well as Mole Valley, includes Epsom, Ewell, Banstead, and parts of Elmbridge.

That figure is expected to double over the next ten years.

I had to take a second look at the title as there's a huge farming cooperative called Mole Valley Farmers 😱:D

Perhaps it's the next step to relieving pressure on GPs - outsource to farmers? 😱 :D

LOL 😛 Careful what you say out loud! You never know who might be listening.🙄

So they are offering psych support which of course I applaud - what about the people who need help with their D not their heads?

I mean - hospital DSNs don't set up shop as psychologists, but they have to be and most of them are - that's why they are a breed apart. Like not telling me I'm daft when I do something well, daft - but saying 'Might not have been the best plan Jenny!' instead !
