Hi,

I have the compatibility list from Abbot for the Libre 2. I am having great difficulty in purchasing any of the phones listed as they all seem to be older phones and hard to find. I normally use Samsung Galaxy and wondered if anyone is using newer phones that work with Libre 2?

Any help will be great as my current phone is very old and not working well.

Redmi summat, works ok. Not listed so not tested by Abbott. I thought well, let' have a go at downloading the App, cos if it downloads presumably it'll work. It downloaded and it worked.

As does my A52.

I think this business of getting assured compatibility has been a longstanding problem and in many ways worsened by the CGM manufacturers not upgrading their own in-house Readers (Abbott call them Readers, Dexcom call them Receivers). There is an inevitable technical challenge for CGM manufacturers to keep abreast of the increasing frequency of model changes and operating system upgrades. Today's Readers / Receivers are well behind what you can get from the array of apps on a modern phone, in terms of colour contrasts and interactive functions etc. I now am on Dexcom G7 and mainly use the phone app, but have their (ridiculously expensive) Receiver. I use both and the Receiver is not affected by my phone app or vice versa. The G7 Receiver is way more sophisticated than the Libre Reader, but still pretty basic.

However, ev

i have been using xiaomi 11 lite 5g ne for 3 years presently android 13 and works fine with libre 2 and xdrip app previously used a huawei phone that also worked good hope this helps ps they are cheaper as well.good luck.

Device manufacturers have struggled to keep up with the pace of mobile OS and phone development for years.

Those compatibility lists get out of date really quickly, and aren’t regularly updated unfortunately :(

You might get more joy phoning the Abbott helpline and asking them direct (and also point out how out of date their website is!)

Google pixel 4a works without scanning. Available in good condition through CEX

Please note that in this instance compatibility means it hasn't been tested so no guarantees can me made. I use a none compatible MOTO G31 and it works no problem as did my none compatible Nokia 6.2 before that.

It gets very complicated as besides the phone the OS Version comes into it. My Pixel 6 was fine on Android 13 but I gave in to endless messages to upgrade to Android 14. It has been a total nightmare since! Sensor batch also seems to have an effect on how bad it is. :(

Trying to clear these spam calls from history I am having problems so Googled it. Apparently people are bets testing Android 15 now and it seems to have major issues. Microsoft is as bad. Windows XP and 7were great, and 10 OK but Vista, 8/8.1 and 11 carp!
