AN idea which began among a group of enterprising Cumbria mums has evolved into a national campaign for a diabetes charity.
Three friends from Millom, who each have a seven-year-old daughter with type one diabetes, organised a ?onesies for type one? day at primary schools across the town to raise money for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
The event, where children and staff made a donation for the privilege of going to school in their favourite onesies, was the brainchild of Michelle Lancaster, Angela Cummings and Kelly Brown.
The idea raised ?800 for the JDRF, easily smashing the trio?s ?500 target, impressing the charity so much it decided to take it to a national level for World Diabetes Day on November 14.
