Businessman John Kirk knows first hand how important it is for blood donors to come forward.
The 54-year-old, from Birstall, needed nearly six units of blood during five hours of surgery after he was involved in a car accident in Stoughton more than 20 years ago.
It was then he decided to become a donor ? and he has just notched up his 300th donation.
Mr Kirk has received a crystal award from NHS Blood and Transplant to mark his milestone.
