MIDDLEWICH schoolgirl Amber Clayton has started her own sweet free diabetes campaign to mark a year since she was diagnosed with the condition.
Amber, 7, who has Type 1 diabetes, wants people to give up sweets, chocolate and cake this weekend to raise funds for Diabetes UK.
To get as many people behind the campaign, Amber stood up in front of her school last week during assembly to give a talk on the condition.
Amber, who gives herself a minimum of 4 insulin injections and 8 blood tests a day, explained that although she can eat sweets, she is restricted to eating at set times.
