In March 2011 Elizabeth Sacco?s oldest son, David, was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes.
?He has to carry around a case with him everywhere he goes,? said Sacco, a resident of Middleton.
Soon after her son was diagnosed she noticed her son David had formed an unhealthy habit. After he pricked himself to check his blood sugar levels, he would whip his finger on his jeans or on a hard surface or waste a facial tissue to dap a little bit of blood off his finger.
?I have been working on a prototype of Tear and Wipe since last year,? said Sacco.
