I control my Type 2 Diabetes without medication; by diet and exercise. I spent three months in Mexico during 2018 and became aware of traditional medicine and claims that foods such as Nopal cactus, Aloe Vera, Moringa and Huereque can help to lower glucose levels.
Have any scientific trials been conducted to prove benefits or dangers in using these products?

webmd has pages on all but Huereque, with references. As a summary, they might help with lowering blood glucose

I have visited the pages in WebMD. There are no examples of dosage. As you said, Huereque is not on the list but I googled and found results under the alternative name of Wereke. Again there are no examples of dosage.

Thanks for your help.

I have just clicked on the Aloe Vera link which is a different page to the one I visited earlier. Yes there are dosages but there are also warnings. I don't take medication and don't monitor my blood glucose; that is monitored annually by my GP.

I take Clopidogerel, Pravastatin and Lisinopril which may or may not interact with the traditional medicines. If I mention the traditional medicines to my GP I will receive the usual patronising sneer, I am certain; when I have mentioned the book The Great Cholestrol Con to GPs in the past I was dismissed with a sneer.
