Hi Dawn, welcome to the forum 🙂 I'm really not sure of the answer to that one - hopefully one of our members who's done it will be able to share their experience. Your pharmacist will probably be a good person to ask too 🙂

Hi Dawn

I had to stop taking Metformin due to the side effects :( - I think from memory it took a couple of weeks for the effects to wear off - although I can't be certain that was the Metformin still affecting me.
 
if you stop taking metformin how long does it take to get out of your system

Hiya dawn, do you intend to stop taking it? i did only because i felt better and that i am doing a good job of controlling it with diet etc, i am taking just one tab rather than the two as i should be takeing!!!! diabetes nurse and me made a deal 😉 so any way what is you reason? sorry for being nosey just want to help if poss!!!! :D
