Taking mid meal can help. Hopefully you have started on a low dose to allow the body to get used to them, it can take a few weeks and if your stomach doesn't settle then go back to your GP as there are alternatives.
What is your Hba1C that has given you the diagnosis as that will indicate how much you will need to do.
Even with the slow release ones (4 x 500mg per day) I still had some tummy upsets.
So after discussing with my DN, I went down to 3 x 500 per day and that was better (for me).
NB: not on any T2D meds at the moment....
Cheers
I was bunged up when I first started 5 days before I went then 8 days. It got looser when I reached 4 tablets. I had a new tablet added and metformin reduced to two. I'm getting very soft stools each week and three weeks ago had a bit of a dump which may have been in part a stressful day I chose to end with my first fish and chips since diagnosis. I take with last few mouthfuls of a meal. Keep a food and motions diary you may see a pattern. If it is bad enough to be a problem for you ask for a change. It is not now affecting my life so you may find things improve. I started near end of August. Good luck
