when is the best time to take my dosage, morning tends to show no bad effects but evening one does. help.

I was instructed to take mine after my evening meal.

I find that eating half of my meal then taking the tablet and eating the rest of the meal seems to work well

Metformin is a long lasting treatment and there should be no reason to take it at a set time of day particularly if it is having an unwanted consequence.

I also eat half my food then meds then then the rest seems to have worked for me

Hi there. Congrats on the birth of yr baby. Could i ask.g did you have any side effects from them and a brief outline of what you usually have for evening meal. Cheers.
Aw thank you. She’s a year old now (13.5 months) and today took her first steps. So proud!
I switched to slow release a few months ago after being off the wagon and forgetting to take my usual normal metformin for months. I went through hell with metformin when I was first diagnosed. The tummy upset was unreal. I had for past that but with the gap I i had in taking them, it was like starting again and I couldn’t risk the upset tummy attacks at work. So I switched to slow release. They are much better though o still get the off tummy attack but nowhere near as badly or as frequently as I used to.

I usually eat something Quorn based with veggies. Quorn chilli, quorn roasts, home made curry with quorn pieces, salads etc.

take it whenever works best for you without side effects - doesnt matter when you take slow release metformin so long as you're consistent. So if morning gives you less side effects, take it then.
