When metformin expires does it lose a lot of its effectiveness? Also have any of guys noticed any differences with different brands of metformin? I have had tagi and precision dose. Precision Dose seems to be a little better. Tagi is a subsidiary of Precision Dose.

Welcome to the forum
Are you posting from outside the UK as those particular makes of metformin are not familiar. Some people find different brands can cause stomach upset often because the filler or coating is different from the one they are used to.
There may be a difference in how slow or modified release work as opposed to the normal one.

Yes I am in the US. Ok. I accidentally took a 2+ year expired metformin and felt pretty bad effects from it. I felt strong fatigue and borderline pain. Still felt some residual feelings earlier, a day later, today. After I resumed my regular metformin the sensation subsided by a lot. Just trying to confirm.

Most medicines are safe after the expiry date unless they are something that should be kept in the fridge but still better not to take especially if it was a different brand. I could be you had got used to the newer type and your body reacted against the other one.

The reaction was profound. Felt quite bad. My pharmacy changes between two of the manufacturers depending on their stock. Interesting thing is one owns the other. I checked the older bottles and I've taken both manufacturers without knowing with no issues. So hopefully the issue is just the expiration date.
