Hello to you all,

Just curious have any of you noticed that some brands of Metformin work better than other brands ?

I have over the last 4 months or so been on a slow release Metformin SR , 1 X 1000 mg daily.

I found that 'Bolamyn' and the very easy to get hold of 'Glucophage' seem to not work very well for me ... I've had better results keeping my sugar levels lower and more stable with 'Glucient' - which is much more difficult for the chemist to get !

I'm back on the Glucient today to see how I get on......

Over the years I have had many different brands , I personally not noticed a difference in my reaction to them. Though I have seen the occasional poster say so.
 
I will be given a different brand with my next prescription. Was on glucophage, so can’t comment
