Metformin and Leg Pain

Does anyone else get leg pain in their calves with Metformin? Does this mean it is causing lactic acidosis? It also gives me diarrhoea. Am too scared to switch to Sitagliptin though as that sounds scary!!

I don't get leg pains , I have you mentioned it to your doctor.
It is common to get diarrhoea, some people find switching to the slow release version helps, and limiting carbohydrates.
What is it you find scary about Sitagliptin?

My husband gets leg pain in calves on walking but it is not with Metformin ,but I believe it can cause problems with diarrhoea and/or constipation, and also with kidney function .It seems there is a drawback to many things.
