Hi Everyone . Hope we are all doing ok ? Bit of a random question but have been on metformin since Jan 22 . Had chest infection which i am getting over and i dont seem to be tolerating my metformin ? Would the antibiotics or medication been upsetting my stomach x

Upset stomach is a common side effect of antibiotics, it should have been mentioned in the leaflet in the packet

If you think the Metformin is part of the cause of the stomach upset get the script changed to the the Slow Release version Metformin SR if not already on that.

Antibiotics not only target the infection but can also upset the gut microflora. Having live yoghurt helps to restore that.

Any particular yoghurt or does it matter x
It must be one that specifically says with LIVE cultures usually a cocktail of 3 or 4 different ones.

Something like this one
Yeo Valley Organic Natural Creamy Bio Live Yogurt
