Hi,

I'm using the Optium Xceed atm which i was given by my DSN. Only use it for the BS testing & not as yet for ketone testing. Haven't had a backup / spare meter for ages so while out shopping today saw the Accu-check Aviva Nano & was impressed by it's cute little dinky size. I checked with my GP surgery to make sure i'd be able to get the test strips on repeat prescription (as i do with my other meter), the answer was yes & tomorrow there'll be test strips & an Accu-check Aviva Nano waiting for me 🙂

I'm aware there are problems from time to time with the battery compartment on the Nano but hey ho i've got a spare meter which will be my Optium Xceed, for the time being anyway.

What meter/s do you use & what do you think of it?

Cheers for any replies 🙂

I've got an Accuchek Aviva and an Aviva Nano, plus an Optium Xceed, a Glucomen and a One Touch Verio (thanks Natalie123 🙂)

I've had problems with the Nano and had to return one, so I tend not to trust it if away from the housefor long. My ordinary Aviva is very reliable 🙂 A lot of people have Nanos and haven't had any problems with them 🙂

Hi whiskysmum.

I've recently changed from the xceed to the nano. I loved the xceed but the finger pricker was getting weak and I couldn't get a replacement, so I swapped to the nano and had no complaints so far.

Make sure your get the lancets on your repeat too, although you get 2 'drums' in the box, so no rush.🙂

One Touch for me. Free test solution/batteries and very quick delivery when requesting either.

I have an Ultra Smart which is great as I can enter carbohydrate/insulin/health comments/exercise in it.

I also have a One Touch Ultra Easy which is smaller for going out.

I can download the results from both to analyse them.

Both are easy to use and seem accurate. They also don't need vast amounts of blood. 😎

I have an Accu Chek Aviva, supplied by my DN, and find it so helpful with the 7, 14, and 30 day averages. I can see them dropping slightly🙂

I must admit, it took me two years before I discovered those features! 😱

Well I did find out by accident, I'm an inherent button pusher.:D
