My meter and laptop refuse to connect to each other! It worked before on a different laptop but this one... nuhuh not having any of it.

Can anyone help me??

What operating system are you using on the new one? You may need to download an upgrade to the software.

Only got it sent out about 2 months ago. 3 max! Trying to install it for the OneTouchUltra2. Same as on my other laptop.

Just installed it off the website and still no luck!

Hello,

Try installing all three of these:

http://www.lifescan.co.uk/Data/Resources/LifeScan/Corporate/GB/en/software/USBDriverSetup.exe

http://www.lifescan.co.uk/Data/Resources/LifeScan/Corporate/GB/en/software/driver_setup_u.exe

http://www.lifescan.co.uk/Data/Resources/LifeScan/Corporate/GB/en/software/OneTouchSetup.exe

If that still doesn't work, then it's a problem with the software auto-detecting the COM port. To fix that, you need to manually set it in OTDMS Preferences.

If you need help identifying which COM port to set it to, let me know.

Thank you thank you thank you NiVz.. I have been struggling for a week to get this to work and the above downloads have worked :D:D:D:D

Yes, they worked for me...

I fail to see why they wont work for you Loubie..

I think its the laptop. Its the hubby2b's older one. My charger on my laptop has broken & i cnt afford to buy a new one =(

@Smile4loubie - It looks like you're running Vista.

Once you've downloaded the three programs, can you try right clicking on each and choosing the 'Run as administrator' option (should be the one with the shield)

You need to install all 3 before connecting the cable, but I guess you already knew that if you had it working on another laptop.

Hi

sorry to hijack the thread but I am having similar problems. I have an accuchek compact plus meter and also have Vista and the two don't appear to get on well at all. I have gone back to writing down blood sugars but would really like to be able to download them and look at trends on the computer. I don't have internet at home so if someone could provide an accuchek version of those three programs which I could put on a memory stick at work and load at home later on, I would be very grateful.

Hi Lizzie,

Sorry don't know much about Accu-chek :(

Had a look at their website and it was confusing. They seem to have two products that handle meter downloading, Smart Pix and 360 degree and neither are available for download.

I think I remember that Accu-chek need you to use an infra-red cable which you have to purchase from them and it comes with the CD with the drivers and software. Is this what you have? If so, does the software that came with it not work? Do you get any error messages?

I've got an Accu Chek Aviva and got their free software package which is called Compass. They provide a cable (serial connection) and infra red reader plus CD. The other software is SmartPix which they charge for. I suspect that the problem is Vista as most manufacturers did not write drivers for it. I can't use Compass with my laptop because I don't have a serial connecion on it.
