MEMBERS of Blackburn with Darwen?s Asian population are being urged to attend a health education event being run by Diabetes UK.
Working with the borough?s Clinical Commissioning Group, the charity has laid on a free event from 9am to 4.30pm tomorrow at Bangor Street Community Centre, Norwich Street.
The aim is to help find the 1,000 people who live across Blackburn with Darwen who have Type 2 diabetes and do not know it.
Type 2 diabetes is up to six times more common in people of South Asian descent and from other Black, Asian and minority ethnic backgrounds.
