I had an appointment with DSN today, she looked at my diary of blood tests and was quite pleased. In 2 weeks since i last saw her ive only had 3 hypos and only 11 out of 84 were over 10She got on the phone and made me an appointment to see someone called jackie to explain carb counting to me and she also mentioned asking my specialist about going on a pump because i get no warnings of hypos.Which is why im testing up to 10 times a day.Could all you people who are on pumps please give me some advice.I E if you prefer the pump or not ,has it improved your control in any way,do you have a better lifestyle, those sort of things id like to know please.

SOunds like your DSN is pretty good and you are doing all the right things. Hope things work out for the pump.

Hi whitty you have a good DSN there by the sounds of it, hope it all works out where the pump is concerned good luck x

Hi Whitty,

I went onto a pump about two moths ago and I wouldn't go back to injections. The pump gives so much more control and any hypos are less severe.

I'm still testing quite a lot as I'm still trying to get the basal and bolus rates spot on but hypos are now fes and far between.

If you are given the option of a pump then my advice would be to go for it.

Hi Whitty, well done on improving your levels 🙂 If you look in the Pumping section you'll see that practically everyone loves their pump and wouldn't swap it for all the tea in China! You'll still need to do lots of testing, particularly at first, but it will give you much finer control over your levels. If you're offered it, go for it! :D
