Medisafe Alternative

Hi folks. For a few years now I've been using the Medisafe app to manage my daily meds. Owing to the varied conditions I have ranging from Diabetes to Sarcoidosis/IgG4 Related Disease and so on, I'm on a fair few meds and Medisafe has always been a great way to manage them and to give me the reminders I need.

Unfortunately this morning I get an alert stating that going forwards, I will either only be able to manage 2 meds or have to pay for a premium service. The premium service is £3.99 a month but as my sole income is my PiP money, I'm wondering if anyone can recommend a free alternative that they use before I end up having to subscribe please?

Get in touch with your GP see if they can help you. I used to have a device for my meds and it came from GP good luck

Never heard of it or any other app. I have seen people in the Pharmacy been given medications in specialy sealed medication containers.

Hi folks, I thought I'd give an update on this just in case anyone else was in the same boat. First of all, apologies for not replying to the comments, I never got a notification of the replies!

@gail2 Unfortunately my health authority is notorious for penny pinching and there would be zero chance of them handing over something like that. @grovesy Same problem as above really. I'd really like to get my meds like that, but I'd need to pay for that service myself which would make the cost prohibitive and doesn't solve the problem of me forgetting to take them in the first place.

In the end, I've gone with the MyTherapy app. It's extremely easy to set up, very intuitive and works the same way as Medisafe. In fact, I'd say it's easier and more intuitive than Medisafe, especially when you are looking for less run of the mill meds.

I did also try Healthera which is an NHS approved app but found it fiddly to set up and I just seemed to being bombarded with mountains of stuff I didn't need and couldn't seem to turn off.

Some on line pharmacies will do medications in personalised blister packs for each time of the day.
Otherwise a 7day compartmentalised container which you would have to put your meds in from their packaging but you would still need a reminder.

Glad you’ve found a reminder app that suits you @Mr Happymoose

Sounds like you may end up preferring it to your Medisafe one!
