Relationship to Diabetes
Type 2
I have to have a colonoscopy soon and the hospital told me to speak to my diabetes nurse with regards medication. I was diagnosed with type 2 in february and given metformin and I've never been since. I'm constantly ringing gp but always engaged and wont let you make appts at the reception.
I'm really unsure what else to do. Is this normal to not be followed up and can anyone advise on medication if going in for procedure. It's not GA.
Thanks

Welcome to the forum @Wendywoo123 .
Check on your surgeries own website to see if they have another means of contacting them ie, E consult .
If you are asking fir an appointment and being refused, have you tried asking fir a telephone appointment, this is what I usually ask for since the pandemic, apologies if you have already tried this .

If everything fails then contact the hospital dept to let them know the problem you are having contacting your diabetes nurse and write a letter of complaint to the practice manager at your Gp .

As you are newly diagnosed with T2 . It does seem rather a long time to leave you so long without doing a review and another Hb1ac .
Have you had any of the other health checks we are supposed to have.
