Relationship to Diabetes
Type 2
I was diagnosed with Diabetes in January, apparently I was pre-diabetes for 2 years before which I was not told and now have permanent nerve damage (Peripheral Sensory Neuropathy) I am on Metformin.
However I have now been told that I have myasthenia gravis and my Neurologist has reluctantly put me on Pyridostigmine Bromide, she is concerned as this can affect my diabetes but wasn't sure how. I've spoken to my doctor and his response was 'oh should be ok' not exactly reassuring.
Has anyone had any experience of this drug?

I haven’t had experience of this drug, but I have found that pharmacists can be more knowledgable about drugs and how they interact than doctors, so it could be worth asking your pharmacist if they know of any interactions with diabetes?

Well I've searched the MHRA site and have not found any reports of adverse effects regarding serum glucose levels.
