Hi
imam 66 and have had type 2 for 20 years.
I have just this week been prescribed A once a day tablet Jardiance.
I take insulin and metformin and for two days now my blood glucose has dropped to 3.2
this has given me serious hypos
I have today reduced my insulin by 30% but tonight again had a hypo with 3.2
has anyone else experienced this ? Any advice Would be so helpful.
thank you

You may want to start a new thread with your question so it doesn't get lost @everydayupsanddowns may be able to move it.

Sorry to hear about the hypos you have been experiencing following the medication change @Spikie

Have you got a medication review / follow-up booked with your GP or pharmacist? Sounds like this is something you urgently need.

Reducing your insulin sounds like it was a good idea.

Jardiance (empagliflozin) is an SGLT2 med which encourages the body to excrete excess glucose in urine rather than re-absorbing it.

Balancing multiple meds always seems to be a bit tricky, because interactions between them can vary from person to person. Hopefully you can find a way to get these to work well for you.

If you find it hard to get hold of your GP, perhaps consider an e-consult with your surgery (which can be easier than getting a face to face appointment) or call NHS111 for advice?
