Hello.
I am currently measuring pre and post prandial currently. I know that you measure 2 hours from first bite, but yesterday was my partner's birthday and we had an online birthday meal with friends which was drawn out over 2 hours. Should I still measure after 2 hrs from first bite when I had not long eaten some dark choc and drank a glass of red wine or just not bother. I was interested to see what effect the meal and particularly the red wine had on me? Not sure what to do in this situation. Regards

Nothing to stop you measuring but I’d make a note of the circumstances. I have Type 1 but in those circumstances I’d probably find the length of the meal and the lack of activity compared to a normal meal would make my blood sugar higher. The sitting down would probably have the most effect for me. I tend to give myself more of a pass for special meals so I don’t stress over occasional things like this.

If it’s a meal you like or want to test properly, you could always eat it again in a more usual time period.

Thanks Inka. I will do that. I don't normally have the carby extras I ate but it's more the wine I was interested in. Oh dear, I'll have to try a glass of wine another day oops

Yeah - always important to keep up the practise/ce!
