Hi. Does anyone know if you can buy a china/porcelain drinking mug/cup the has a measuring scale in the inside.
I can find several jugs but I don't want to drink out of a jug. Thanks

I use metal measuring cups and transfer the contents into a normal drinking cup or bowl. A jug or measuring cups are probably cheaper than a measuring cup you can drink out of. The only disadvantage is a tiny more washing up.

Thank. Thats what I do now . I thought it would be easier when buying a coffee our just to pour the coffee into my own mug, especially if it served to in dreadful paper mugs.

There are a variety on Amazon, some with handles, some without. You’d have to check it was heatproof if you’re putting coffee in, of course.

Do you need to be this precise about a cup of coffee?

I think the major chains have the carb content of their food and drinks online, so that might be easier than carrying a measuring cup and doing calculations..... although I can understand you wanting to drink out of something nicer that a paper cup.

Personally I just have an Americano with cream and don't worry about the few carbs, probably just 2-3g carbs, that will be in the cream, but I imagine for a latte it is going to depend on which milk it is made with and how big it is, as to the carb content. I think I would probably guess 15ish for a medium and about 20g for a large made with standard dairy milk.

Why do you need to measure liquid in a mug?

If you need to know how much fluid you’re drinking per day just measure the cup once. Put it on a scale, zero it, and pour water in then check the weight. It will always contain that much fluid then.

I’m intrigued too @Ray Howes !

Are you tracking intake in some way? Do you find coffee shop coffee needs a bolus (I guesstimate mine which is mostly down to the BG bump from caffeine I think)
