A few days, ago I posted details of how my normally regular 5 5-6.5 blood sugars had suddenly risen to 6.9 and even a 7 2. I had a small increase in snacking carbs in the main almonds, an extra square of chocolate (oooh) and watermelon. I received some helpful advice. At the same time I decided to open a new box of testing strips, and to my amazement the sugars immediately returned to usual 5ish number. Is it possible that those testing strips were duds? Or cutting down the snacks changed things so quickly. Ever cautious I will continue to test just in case... No end to learning. But once again thanks

It's certainly possible the strips were duds - perhaps it was a combination of both? 🙂 Glad to hear things are back on track 🙂

Thank you. There is enough to think about with D and now the added pleasure of dud sticks...

I once had a duff batch, contacted the manufacturer ,they replaced. They said that they could have been mishandled in the supply change.

Oh, thanks. We threw them away. Hopefully it won't happen again. But the thought of having to rejig food was a shock. But all back to nornal (for me) even the fearful porridge returned a 6.0

If that was the cause it's thankfully very rare, and you spotted something unusual with the results you were getting, so that will go into your memory banks of experience to inform future potential problems 🙂 The same can happen occasionally with insulin, when you wonder if you've just injected water for all the good it's done! 😱

Tbh, I don't really know. It was just odd Am simply assuming, but still cutting down the few extra carby treats. D is a fickle mistress. So much to learn.

Really glad to hear that you got things sorted in the end! Thanks for updating us.
