A man with Down’s syndrome who has lived in the UK for 17 years is facing deportation after his parents died.

Wadih Chourey, 44, moved with his family to the UK in 1997 after being abused by gangs in his native Lebanon.

However, after living with his brother in Twickenham for 17 years, the Home Office are threatening to send him back to Beirut.

‘This is a man who cannot cook for himself, who cannot operate a washing machine or use a computer,’ said local MP Vince Cable.
