That is so sad. Scary too, I hope I never get in a situation that is even slightly similar.
I noticed years ago that I can get very stubborn with hypos, so I've tried very hard to train myself to go for the win of immediately stopping whatever I'm doing and testing. I of course always test before I drive. Being able to drive is a huge responsibility with a tonne and a half of metal under my control, and we know better than most it's a privilege and not a right.
