I'm T2, have been since 2011. Recently started Insulin as tablets where not good enough to keep my levels down. A1C of 70+ all the time.

Been on Toujeo and NovoRapid for about 3 months.

Ill include some images of my readings. The graph with the spikes is my usual daily pattern. I eat, it spikes the insulin i had with the meal does its thing and it comes down.

BUT

I cought a bug of some sort from my mother over xmas so I had the poops and a lot of gas and burping. Fun times.

I was not eating anything really but still had my nightly Toujeo injection. I was feeling a bit better on Friday so I had something to eat but I didnt have any novorapid.... so I was expecting a huge spike in my BS. It never happend.

I have not had any injections at all for 2 days now and my BS is normal. No spikes even with food.

What on earth is going on there? A finger test confirms my levels are good also.

It's a bit of a mystery why my BS is normal all of a sudden where before if I missed my novorapid with my meal id hit 15+ within the hour.

Christmas Miricale?

It could be your digestive issues @Seansmit17 I had similar after a bad virus. I could eat and on,y needed tiny amounts of insulin. However, over a couple of weeks this returned to normal as my digestive system recovered.

Hi Sean and HNY to all,
Think Inka has hit the nail on the head that if you have digestive issues so basically the carbs are exiting your system quickly before being fully broken down into glucose. Hence before entering your bloodstream then your BG will likely remain very stable even if you have reduced or even stopped your insulin.
I had a similar episode 2 weeks ago when I stopped all my bolus insulin and only took 2 units of basal and was eating as normal but I had a TIR of 100% and an average BG of 6.5 with very little volatility.
Once my issues cleared up my BG levels have returned to the normal reaction.
