It is a condition which many have the wrong idea about. Katie Baldwin reports on the young diabetes sufferer helping to change all that.
She is only nine, but Maisie Bagnall is already hoping to change opinions about diabetes.
The youngster has the type 1 form of the condition and as a Youth Ambassador for charity the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF), she is campaigning and raising awareness.
For Maisie?s mum Michelle, that means tackling some of the myths surrounding the condition in children.
?I?ve had friends saying ?she?s not very big, does she eat the wrong things??,? she said.
