Morning all, had my pre review meet with a nurse this morning and she made me laugh.........blood taken, feet done and she was ok with that but warned me about my bunion which is family orientated and have had for years, was ok about weight..allowance made for jeans and noon appt., BP was fine, I know my body well, but I am still laughing at her choice of words......my urine sample was ' malodorous ' !!!!! Now, I know what hat means, a fancy word for whiffy, but I have not heard it for years
 
Blood results on NHS app today. Kidneys function ok, but no mention of urine infection, lipids are fine potassium is still lowish, fats fine but where is the HB1ac.....????? It's usually quick and that's the one I am watching for. Normally a couple of days. BOTHER!!!!!! . Will keep on watching but vegetable curry and g and t on the menu tonight. Lunch with eldest son and new lady friend tomorrow.....so pleased , she is really nice, it's three years since he lost his wife and I can still turn on the waterworks. Sunday is a birthday.....???? Sunset strip if you are old enough to know what that was....so I am not going to worry about it till Monday . Xxxxx

Many happy returns for Sunday and one must always remember that on two days every single year, there are neither calories nor carbohydrates in either food or drink. One date is the same for everyone, being the 25th December but the other one is personal to each of us, being our birthday.

Checked results yesterday and HBa1c has risen from 51 to 61 !!!!!!!! Only comment was abnormal , see nurse. Appointment already for Wednesday week. Bit annoyed but as I did raise my carbs a bit over winter as I was cold , but did not even have a mince pie etc over Christmas far less cake, chocolate or even a sherry. Still off bread and the other naughty things. Oh well I shall need to rethink and see what little gems the DN will come up with.

How disappointing. Maybe keep a food diary with an estimate of your carb intake and if you have a monitor do some before and after meal readings so you have some evidence to show when you have your appointment./
 
I am disappointed, to be honest. Was not encouraged to test, I did not ask ..............and although I like salad, there is a limit . Husband does not eat what I eat, so there are times when he has a carby meal of his choosing and I have something else. Hes having pie and chips tonight.......Im having sea bass with vegetables....just had keto cauliflower and courgette soup for lunch. .......maybe I need to go back to three Metformin a day instead of two. I don't know... DNis pleasant but she's not exactly skinny ,should not say that, but that's how I feel today ..... She is trained but does she actually get it??????
