I had my annual diabetic eye test in April. Background retinopathy (as before) but this time Maculopathy in right eye (M1) so referred to hospital. I googled it and it said it is usually caused by uncontrolled high sugar, but with well controlled sugar levels, last test 37 (5.6), I was a bit confused and anxious. Just had my hospital appointment, expecting to have to have drops, maybe injections, but came out very relieved. I had 2 scans (no drops) I have a very small macular cyst, which she is not worried about. She said due to my excellent hbac1, not caused by high blood sugar. She said they can sometime be a reaction to pain (I tore my meniscus prior to first test ) but she said my sight is excellent. Back in three months for follow up. Happy !
