Lucy Letby - this has the potential to be huge

As you say, at least without capital punishment we don't risk another 'Bentley and Craig' case.
From memory it was ambiguous as to the “let him have it” Bentley “allegedly” said, when caught on a bungled robbery was plea for Graig to surrender the gun over to the police?

That's right. Also, nowadays Bentley would be regarded as having an intellectual disability. Craig didn't hang, as he was only 16 at the time of the murder.

In the Letby case, much was allegedly done behind closed doors or out of site. This chap here in this new story was doing things in plain site using his lunch knife to perform operations. Apparently they are looking to charges of manslaughter.

the sad deaths of all the children can be accounted for without the need to invoke the hand of a single individual. As such, the conviction of Lucy Letby is unsound. That is the conclusion of a panel of experts convened by a new defence team for the person sent to prison for causing their deaths.

Just to correct you..... the sad deaths of all the children can be accounted for without the need to invoke the hand of a single individual. As such, the conviction of Lucy Letby is unsound. That is the conclusion of a panel of experts convened by a new defence team for the person sent to prison for causing their deaths.

Let us not forget that there are a whole series of issues involved not least the incompetence of the original defence team who seemingly did not challenge the statistics or the medical evidence presented by the prosecution despite the means to do so being available. Unfortunately having an incompetent defence is not grounds for appeal.

Let us not also forget that all of those children had parents and the last thing they need is things being dragged once again through the media, both published and social. It needs to be resolved satisfactorily but the process will not be helped by argument amongst those using opinions based on selective interpretation of what information is publicly available.

Corrected Thanks @Docb

Regarding your point above, I take a different view. "If" Letby is innocent, the last thing the parents of those children want is for an innocent person to be vilified, imprisoned and their future destroyed and for those potentially responsible to get away scot free by use of a scapegoat.

In terms of the process/publicity, where/if an injustice occurs, it unfortunately takes media intervention, publicity and public support to get these sorts of injustices over turned, so the last thing we need is for the public and media to keep quiet.
