Lowest ever HBA1C

Just back from the nurse with all my results, cholesterol 4.5 mmol slightly higher than the ideal 4 but my ratio is very good (but I have to stay on the simvistatin) and hba1c 5.5 😱 down from 6.3 I was preparing myself for an increase as I have had stress and a few ilnesses over the past couple of months. I don't get hypos(glucophage only) so the nurse is very pleased with me and I don't need to go back for another 6 months.

Great news Cazscot! Well done on the A1c 🙂

If the statin is giving you any problems (muscle pain/forgetfulness) you might want to look into what level of Chol you are happy with, and what your lipid breakdown is - some papers I've come across recently suggest 4 might be not ideal (ie too low), especially for women?
