Low mood

Does diabetes, controlled or otherwise, trigger low mood or depression. Not sure what's going on at the moment. My dogs recent health scare hasn't helped but I was already signed off.
High blood glucose effects all the cells in the body including the brain so it can certainly be a trigger for mood changes in some people.

Hi, yes it sure does, iv hit diabetic burnout quite a few times when my mood is at it lowest and I am depressed, the nurses say it's because diabetes is alway there and you have to plan everything around it, you find that it controls you not the other way around.
But it's not going anywhere and we have to deal with it.
 
Have a look on the main website at diabetes distress. I know my carbohydrate consumption can really mess with my mood and anxiety levels.
