as I've mentioned on another thread I'm eating low fat cheese to help reduce cholesterol. But I know it's been discussed on here before and recall it's not really a healthy option because I think the fat is replaced by other stuff? Can anyone remind me please of the negatives of eating it so I can weigh up the pros and cons. Thanks.

Check the ingredients and nutritional content of the brand you are eating. Lower fat soft cheese often have more water and air added to replace fat and bulk up. Other soft cheeses and hard cheeses may have other chemical replacements. Not usually sugar, but that's always worth checking in lower fat products eg yogurt.

Check the packaging, with Philadelphia I have the low fat one, but not the lightest fat one, the low fat one has the least carbs out of the full fat one, low fat and lightest.
