Hi there everyone!
I'm a newbie to the site but am so pleased to have joined. I wonder if you guys can post some ideas for low carb and calorie packed lunch ideas please? I am 61 years old and still thoroughly enjoying working full time but am struggling with weight and have known for a while that the lunchtime period at work is a danger spot for me. I'd like to be able to prep something that's relatively easy to throw together but healthy also. My BMI is high and I'm concerned that I am heading towards type 2 diabetes. I would like to be able to head any chance of this happening to me off at the pass! Thanks in advance.

Welcome to the forum
I assume from your post that it is because you want to lose weight rather than that you have had a prediabetes or diabetes diagnosis that you are looking for lunch suggestions.
Home made soup, salad with cooked meat, cheese or eggs are good options.
It is just a matter of reducing the amount of bread you might have so make a sandwich with just 1 slice and don't have crisps as well.
You could have yoghurt with berries.
It is also going to depend on what you have for your other meals.
I often took a portion of the previous dinner for lunch, so some soup, chilli or curry as we had a microwave to heat it
There are some menu ideas in this link which is a low carb approach which people have found successful in losing weight and managing to reduce blood glucose. https://lowcarbfreshwell.co.uk/
The internet is a good place to look by searching for low carb/low calorie meals.

I’ve got a can of Tesco cream of chicken soup today (heated this morning and brought in my food flask), 194 calories and 18g carbs. With some blueberries and a yoghurt, I would have had half a ham salad sandwich but was out of bread, ham and salad.

Cold meats, cheese, anything low carb you'd likely put in a sandwich but without the bread.
Canned fish.. the possibilities are pretty endless.

What bulkbiker said - the possibilities are endless.
I used to make batches of frittata from eggs, cream and meat/veg and herbs. Very filling.
Leftover chicken with home made almond flour bread or in a salad with a dressing made from olive oil and mustard.
Sometimes I just have some hummus with vegetables and cheese.
Avocado and cheese goes well together with olive oil and tomatoes.
