hi have a concern my bloods have been pretty irratic over the last few weeks ( had numerous physical issues as well as increased anxiety and panic episodes ) the past few pre lunch readings have been low is in the 2s - 3s without any warning of side effects . I am not sure my insulin is being absorbed despite me using various injection sites. ( when I take pen out a little insulin seeps out ) any advice welcome

Hello Becky and welcome to the forum.
Obviously your insulin is being absorbed otherwise you wouldn't be as low as you are 🙂

If you drive then you need to stop until you have regained your awareness.

Do you count to 10 before you withdraw the needle have your injection?

Hi yes I always count to 12 as a matter of habit
Have eaten no different a breakfast nor done anything different this is why I'm at a loss ? Only on 6 units. Is it usual for slight drip of insulin on skin after injection ? Daft question after being diabetic for many years but just conscious of this lately

I nearly always find a drip of insulin on my skin. I assume it's what was left round the needle after the 'air shot' and just drops off onto the skin when the pen is pointing sideways or downwards.

What insulin are you using?
Do you carb count and can you adjust your own insulin to your needs? It sounds to me as if you need to check exactly what is going on and reduce as needed as no one has exactly the same dose or needs day in day out.

As well as adjusting insulin doses (which you may want to speak with your DSN about first), anxiety and panic attacks may be contributing to the low bloods. Your post suggests you have had these before, have you asked about speaking to the mental health team?
