22:57pm - 4.8 bedtime had 2 digestives
6:35am waking but I've been awake all night 17.1 - 3.5 units correction 16 units tresiba - 0.4 ketones
8:06am 13.0 didn't need any more correction
9:11am 11.5 - 36g of carbs 4.5 units and again no correction - 0.2 ketones

This time I know the possible reasons for the highs - it could be the 2 digestive choc chip cookies 20g of carbs was too much or it could be shock and I can't believe I'm saying this my mother in law died last night

Sorry to hear that, quite likely it was the shock and lack of sleep that messed your levels up. Take care (((hugs)))

I tend to agree with Sally, I wouldn't think 2 biscuits would push you up THAT much, so sorry to hear your sad news, thoughts with you and the family and sending hugs xx

Sorry to hear the sad news, Gill.

I agree, it’s more likely the shock that’s done this. It’s your liver pumping out glucose to help with the stress, readying you for the fight. Very basic thinkers, livers.

Sorry to hear about MIL. Hard days ahead supporting your husband, so be kind to yourself.

So sorry to hear your news Gill. Stress can send your levels all over the place so just do what you can and don't worry about the figures too much. x

So sorry to hear the news of your mother in law. Take care.

Very sorry to hear these circumstances, please look after yourself

So sorry to hear of your family loss, it is always a hard thing to come to terms with even when expected let alone if it is out of the blue made that bit harder in these times.

Sorry to hear that @mum2westiesGill Stress can indeed have a big effect on your blood sugars. All you can do is correct and keep a close eye on things.

Sending you love and condolences for your loss. XX

My love and condolences to you and your family Gill xx

Sorry to hear your sad news Gill. I would say the levels are definitely down to shock. Thinking of you and your family.

How sad @mum2westiesGill - I’m so sorry for you and your family’s loss. Take care x

Sorry to hear this, Gill, thinking of you. Take care of yourself. Hope you get a better night's sleep tonight.

Thank you for all your kind replies 🙂
I'm so relieved to say that by teatime my BGLs had worked there way back down to 7.4 before tea then 8.7 at bedtime - I had 2 rich tea biscuits and some slices of extra mature cheddar cheese and no humalog
8:05am this morning was 6.0 and 16 units of tresiba taken
9:48am bef breakfast 8.7 - 36g carbs / 4.5 units of humalog / 0.5 units correction

Wow that’s pretty good! Well done 🙂
Don’t worry if things are a bit less than perfect for a little while, stress can mess you up no end and if you then stress out more worrying about your numbers it will get even worse. Just look after yourself and hubby and just do what your bolus calculator says and correct when you need to and things will settle down again.

So sorry to read your sad news Gill, but well done on regaining control of your BG levels. In the circumstances you have done amazingly well.
