Hello Forum Community!

Everyone with diabetes has an annual diabetes check. Once the checks are done, any spare blood or urine that is taken is destroyed. A research team in Wales are proposing that the samples are kept anonymously for research, without specific further consent. As part of this they are seeking the views of people with diabetes and their families on whether people support this project and if they have any concerns.

Diabetes UK will be holding a short focus group on the 19th April at 11:30 to 13:00 to gather views on this proposed project. If you live in Wales - we’d like to invite you to take part in that and would be delighted to discuss this further with you if you are interested. Please contact anna.morris@diabetes.org.uk

I'd like to join in but can't due to work but have no objection to samples being used as suggested (living near Caerphilly)
