I was hoping someone might be able to help me. For the past couple weeks I have been having a lot more low glucose events than usual. I tried reducing my long lasting insulin but that meant I woke up with high glucose so I feel that cannot be the issue. I tried having less insulin with meals thinking maybe my carb to insulin ratio needed amending, but that either didn’t work and I have still ended up with low glucose levels or I have ended up with high ones. I have also been finding that after treating my low, it very quickly comes back down to low again, even though I have been treating lows in the same way for years. Unfortunately I am still on a waiting list to see a diabetic specialist after moving quite a few months ago so I was wondering if anyone here may have an idea what might be causing the increased amount I am having low glucose levels?

When are the lows? Which insulins do you use? And have you done a basal test?

When are you going low - ie how close to your meal/bolus? Are you confirming the lows with a fingerprick? Have you tried reducing your mealtime ratios?

Have you done a recent basal test @Laura9876 ? Basal needs can change throughout the year and sometimes for no apparent reason.

Couldn’t it be hormones?
I get random lows when I am due my period but also get a bit of insulin resistance the few days before that. During my period I get unpredictable lows very quickly for no reason
