Heya Ollie, I have been 'offline' for a few days and just read your issues.

Why is your DSN not helpful with this and in assisting your levels are stable, surely in the long run, stabilty will reduce costs associated with the long term complications? Anyway, from what I have read, I won't go on but would be interested why the DSNs are not helpful?

What is your HBA1c and what area are you from?

There is an abundance of information from very very knowledgable(but not medically trained!) and I second what has been said. The only thing I have picked up on that I can add to is the fact you internet searched for carbs of a bourbon biscuit...have you thought and looked at 'Carbs & Cals' on either iPhone or iPod/iPad app or there is a book version if the electronic version is not an option?
Carbs and cals is fab as it has a vast selection of foods and different cuisines, you can add your own and build up a total for your meals. The app/book also offers a picture to marry up your portion size. I love this app and trust it and tested its carbs amount and is not far out at all!!!!!!! the best ?4 I have every spent!

Hi everyone - thanks for all of your replies. I'm about to read through them but I want to share some news first.

I went to my doctors' for an hba1c test yesterday, the doctor called me with the results today.

My results were....

drumroll...!

7.8! I'm so happy to see all of this work taking effect 🙂 I can only thank you all again for all of your kind support and advice. I realise I have a bit further to go from here but to get a test under 8 would have been unthinkable for me once... I feel I'm in such a different place now and I'm really happy about it 🙂
