Hi all!

Ok, so I haven't checked in here in such a long time. Basically, I got angry at the D, didn't want to test, didn't want to inject, didn't want to carb count, standard rebellion of a 19 year old student. I wanted to be "normal" if you will. Things got bad. But to cut a long story short, things are good now. I have a hba1c coming up, which I'm absolutely dreading, but I'm doing all the right things now, and my attitude towards the diabetes is a lot better, which is what's important.

How has everyone else been???

Vicki 🙂

Sorry to hear you have had a rough time Vicki, but very glad to hear that you are back on track now 🙂 Try not to worry too much about the HbA1c, that's in the past now. The good thing is that you recognised that you had to take back control, so well done!

Glad you've teken the reins again Persil.

Hope the HbA1c is not as bad as you fear - the most recent weeks before the test matter more than the levels 10 weeks ago after all!

Hi Vicki and good to see you posting. As has already been said, don't beat yourself up about what's passed. There's not a single thing you can do about it. You can do something about the future though and you have taken the first steps. You've done it before and you will do it again. Take your HbA1c as that starting point, draw a line under it and move on. I bet you'll be surprised and it wont be as bad as you thought anyway. Take care. XXXXX

To say I'd never had times like this when I was younger would be untruthful, it's a difficult condition to live with at the best of times but more so when you are young with so many things to do, don't worry about the result as you can put things right the next time should it come back higher than before.
