Ta! I answer to both splorp and Tim. The former is the sound a marble makes when dropped into syrup and is my general messageboard name / Tim is my actual name (but you probably already guessed that...)

Have you determined the splorp sound through any form of personal extensive reasearch? If so, has it been peer reviewed and/or published?

I'm actually preparing a meta-study of peer reviewed published studies about marble / syrup interface noises. Should be published in The Lancet sometime in the late spring.

Looking at your post replies as well as a quick perusal of your blog suggests perhaps the tiniest hint - the merest of indications - that you are running slightly off-centre?
That being said, Alison appears to be veering far more off-course which, in turn, makes you look like the sane one.

Nah, Alison's the insane one; under her veil of outward sanity is a mind of complete doopy-loopness (if there is such a word).
 
Excuse me as an Alison can we please establish to which Alison we are referring?
 
In my experience, I think it applies to most Alisons (present company, of course, accepted). But in this case I'm specifically referring to my esteemed co-writer on my web site.
