Do others take extra food before doing a long (2 hours or more) walk or cycle?
If so what do you eat?🙂
 
For a long run i.e. further than 5 miles I would normally have a couple of jelly babies for each extra mile to keep me topped up 🙂 It's a very individual thing though, so ideally best to test to find out how things go for you personally 🙂
 
I take a packed lunch

Hello, I dont know about extra food because I often go for long walks that start around 10am and end around 12 noon - 1pm, by the time I have finsihed I can generally tell my blood sugars are getting low because I feel a bit wobbly.
I always take water with me on the walk and a packed lunch like cous cous with three or four raw vegetable portions chopped into it and about 2 ounces of protien. I always make my own up so I can regulate what goes in it. I have also taken a wrap, with strips of chicken and salad or Hummus and black olives with salad leaves. I've even chopped up a small salad with tuna or a boiled egg and taken that with me.
If it is not convenient for me to take a packed lunch, I will take a piece of fruit, like an apple or pair with a handful of nuts and seeds, like pumpkin, sunflower, hemp or flax, sesame seeds and pistachio or walnuts. or, a couple of oat cakes and humus and a piece of fruit.
